Surreybrooke is just a couple of miles down the road from Edgewood Garden on the same road. Their Children's Garden was highlighted on HGTV'S " A Gardener's Diary". As the owner finds some new idea, she creates gardens around it. There are also a number of interesting unusual cultivars in the garden center as well.

Long Creek Homestead
Long Creek Homestead sits on twenty-five acres of mixed woodland, food forests, and gardens. It celebrates more than 100 varieties of fruits and useful perennials. Landscapes are ecologically designed to harvest rainwater, build soil, and balance insect populations. Living willow dome and circular straw-bale home is open to explore. A small on-site nursery will be open and selling paw paws, elderberries, chokeberries, juneberries, ornamental willows, inoculated mushroom logs, etc.

Private Garden Tour, Louisa Zimmerman Roberts

Brunswick, MD 21716

This is the private garden of Louisa Zimmerman Roberts, GWA member. From a so so and difficult property to a wonderful and private quirky garden filled with fabulous containers, glass and interesting perennials and shrubs so you can see what you do with a small and steep lot to make it interesting and usable.

Thanksgiving Farms
1619 Buckeystown Pike
Adamstown, MD 21710

This is the family owned business of the Zimmerman's and Roberts' shared by several members of the family, each with their own special part of the business. Learn how a real family owned business works with the pluses and minuses of being an independent IGC. It's not all glory but a lot of hard work!

"Besides touring the working garden center at the last stop of our day, there is a food truck and a craft brewery on site! There were bourbon flavored pretzels there for my last visit that were to die for! I will be bringing some back with me if there are any left!" -Denise Schreiber
