Region VI Regional Meeting | Kingston, WA
Tour of Heronswood Garden
Sunday, August 26, 2018 | 10:00AM - 3:00PM
Join GWA members Mary-Kate Mackey and Lynne Harrison at Heronswood Garden. Heronswood Garden is described as an outstanding collection of rare and diverse plants. But really, it’s a phoenix of a garden. Begun in 1987 by Dan Hinkley and Robert Jones, that first astonishingly beautiful creation was sold, fell on hard times, and then was rescued in 2012 by the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe.
This five-hour GWA Regional Meeting will feature a tour on a day not open to the public and a presentation with Dan Hinkley and members of the tribe. Find out the Heronswood story and how and why this fabulous garden is rising again, to surpass even its first glorious incarnation.
